Verdict: A friendly, well-supported budget-to-mid host whose 4.8/5 sentiment and 60-day guarantee make it low-risk to try.

From: $2.99/mo (shared intro, 36-month term — promotional, verify at checkout)

TMDHosting is a friendly, well-supported budget-to-mid host for small businesses and WordPress or WooCommerce owners, rated an Excellent 4.8/5 from 1,684 Trustpilot reviews (as of Aug 2026). Its draws are a responsive support record and a low-risk 60-day money-back window on shared and cloud plans. The trade-offs are cheap intro rates that rise sharply at renewal and middling third-party performance scores (around 78%).

Verdict at a glance

TMDHosting is a long-running, support-focused host for small businesses, WordPress and WooCommerce owners, and anyone who wants cPanel with LiteSpeed and a real human on the other end of the chat window. Its customer sentiment is genuinely strong. On Trustpilot it scores 4.8/5 from about 1,750 reviews (as of October 2026), with roughly 90% of ratings at five stars and about 7% at one star. That puts it among the better-reviewed hosts in our comparison, and the praise centres on technical support and migration help.

The honest summary has three parts. First, support and staff expertise are the clear draw. Second, pricing is not as cheap as the old "$2.95 a month" headlines suggest: on the provider's own pages we checked in October 2026, shared hosting starts around $9.52 a month on a three-year term and renews at $11.90. Third, the money-back window on those pages is 30 days, not the 60 days that some older write-ups (and an earlier version of this article) quoted. Always confirm both at checkout, because TMDHosting has changed its plan structure and pricing over the years.

We did not run our own benchmarks for this review. Everything below comes from TMDHosting's own materials, Trustpilot, and third-party reviewers we have cited at the bottom.

Who it's for

TMDHosting suits:

  • Small businesses that want shared or cloud hosting with responsive, knowledgeable support.
  • WordPress and WooCommerce owners who like cPanel, Softaculous one-click installs and a LiteSpeed-based stack.
  • People moving from another host who want help with the move, since TMDHosting highlights manual website transfers.
  • Site owners who want a choice of server location, with data centres across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, India and South America listed on the provider's site.

Look elsewhere if:

  • You want the cheapest possible entry price. Several rivals advertise lower first-term rates, and TMDHosting's shared plans now sit around the ten-dollar mark per month.
  • You need very cheap VPS hosting. TMDHosting's VPS plans are fully managed and priced accordingly.
  • You want an explicit, written uptime percentage on every product. The home page we read states "N+1 redundancy and high availability" without a percentage, though individual product pages do cite figures (covered below).

Pricing and plans

Pricing is the area where you need to be most careful. TMDHosting's sale prices are promotional, tied to a three-year ("triennial") prepayment with a quoted 20% saving, and the renewal price is what you will pay afterwards. Figures below are from TMDHosting's own plan pages as read in October 2026 and may change. Verify at checkout.

Linux shared hosting

All three tiers are cPanel-based, run LiteSpeed, and include a free domain registration or transfer, free SSL certificates, and a free Cloudflare CDN integration.

  • Starter: $9.52 a month on the three-year term, renewing at $11.90 a month. 1 website and 50 GB of SSD storage.
  • Business: $12.72 a month on the three-year term, renewing at $15.90 a month. Unlimited websites, 100 GB SSD, and a "Performance x2" resource allocation. Includes 30 backup copies.
  • Enterprise: $19.12 a month on the three-year term, renewing at $23.90 a month. Unlimited websites and unlimited SSD storage, with a "Performance x4" allocation and premium caching. Also includes 30 backup copies.

The "unlimited" storage on the top tier is subject to the usual fair-use and file-count limits that apply to almost all shared hosts, so read the terms if you plan to store a very large media library.

Cloud hosting

TMDHosting's cloud tiers on the page we read were priced identically to the shared tiers ($9.52, $12.72 and $19.12 a month on the three-year term, with $11.90, $15.90 and $23.90 as the monthly figures) and offered the same storage and site limits. The cloud plans emphasise "N+1 redundancy on all components", LiteSpeed with integrated caching, and CloudLinux with malware scanning. Because shared and cloud are described so similarly, ask support exactly how the resource isolation differs before choosing one over the other.

WordPress hosting

  • Starter: $9.99 a month on the three-year term, renewing at $12.49. 1 site, 50 GB SSD, no included backup copies.
  • Business: $13.03 a month, renewing at $16.29. Unlimited sites, 100 GB SSD, 30 backup copies.
  • Enterprise: $19.99 a month, renewing at $24.99. Unlimited sites, unlimited SSD, 30 backup copies.

The WordPress page also lists a 99.9% uptime guarantee, 24/7 support and multiple PHP versions on all plans.

Billing terms and discounts

The WordPress page we read mentions that annual and biennial billing earn smaller discounts (10% and 15%) than the three-year term (20%). Shorter terms cost more per month. One third-party reviewer reported a setup fee on monthly signups in an older test, though we did not see a setup fee on the current plan pages, which say "no fee" for the WordPress tiers. Check the checkout summary for any setup line item.

VPS and dedicated

  • Managed Linux VPS: the VPS page we read listed nine cPanel/WHM tiers from $69 a month (4 GB RAM) up to $2,199 a month (256 GB RAM), with annual billing saving roughly 17%. The home page advertised a promotional entry price of $49.99 a month against $62.49 regular, so the entry figure appears to vary by page and promotion. All VPS plans include a dedicated IP, SSH/SFTP, daily backups with 30-copy retention and a stated 99.99% uptime guarantee.
  • Managed dedicated servers: from $199.99 a month ($159.99 promotional) on the home page.

Money-back guarantee and free extras

The home page and the shared, cloud and WordPress pages we read all state a 30-day money-back guarantee. Some third-party reviews, and an earlier version of this review, cite 60 days. We could not confirm 60 days on the current official pages, so assume 30 days unless your checkout says otherwise. Free extras listed on the plan pages include a free domain (registration or transfer), free SSL, cPanel, Softaculous and the Cloudflare CDN integration. Domain "free" offers usually apply only to the first year, so confirm the renewal fee for the domain too.

Billing gotchas

  • The advertised sale price depends on the three-year commitment. If you pay monthly, you pay the higher figure.
  • Renewal is higher than the sale price. On the current shared plans the step-up is 25%, which is gentler than many hosts, but older price lists we saw cited from independent reviews showed bigger jumps. Check the renewal line before you pay.
  • Independent reviewers have criticised the transparency of the pricing structure, so screenshot your order summary.

Key features

  • LiteSpeed web server on shared and cloud plans, with caching built in.
  • cPanel (and WHM on VPS) with the Softaculous app installer.
  • CloudLinux account isolation, with malware scanning on cloud plans.
  • Free Cloudflare CDN integration.
  • Free SSL certificates and a free domain registration or transfer.
  • Daily backups with 30 retained copies on higher tiers.
  • Unlimited email accounts.
  • Multiple PHP versions and MariaDB databases.
  • Manual website transfers handled by staff.
  • A response-time promise of 15 minutes or less on support for cloud and VPS pages.

Performance and infrastructure

Data centres. The home page lists nine locations: Chicago (US), London (UK), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Tokyo (Japan), Singapore, Sydney (Australia), Johannesburg (South Africa), Mumbai (India) and Santiago (Chile). The shared and cloud product pages list six of those (Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney), while the VPS page lists all nine. Third-party sites also mention Phoenix and Sofia, which may reflect older or additional locations. Ask support which locations are available for the exact plan you want.

Storage. Shared and WordPress plans advertise SSD storage. The VPS page mentions NVMe storage on at least its 16 GB plan.

Caching and CDN. LiteSpeed with built-in caching, plus the free Cloudflare CDN integration.

Uptime. The WordPress page states a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and the VPS page states 99.99%. The home page cites N+1 redundancy but no percentage. An independent tester, Website Setup, measured a six-month average of 99.93% between March and August 2022, with monthly figures ranging from 99.70% to 99.99%, and described the uptime as "flaky" in places. That test is several years old, so treat it as history, not a current measurement.

Speed. The same third-party test recorded an average page load of 621 ms over six months. We did not run our own speed tests, and we are not presenting any benchmark of our own. Performance in this review reflects the provider's materials and reputable third-party reporting only.

Support

Support is where TMDHosting earns its reputation. The provider advertises real human support 24/7 across live chat, phone and tickets, plus a knowledge base. Its Trustpilot reviewers repeatedly single out the technical team's speed and expertise, particularly around migrations and server updates. The cloud and VPS pages promise a response in 15 minutes or less, which is a provider claim we did not test.

Not everyone has a perfect experience. A minority of Trustpilot reviewers mention occasional downtime or slow support responses, and TMDHosting replies to about 75% of its negative reviews, typically within 24 hours. The company lists a US phone number on Trustpilot and an Orlando, Florida location.

Security

  • SSL: free certificates on all plans (Let's Encrypt is cited by third-party reviewers).
  • Backups: daily backups are advertised, with 30 retained copies on the Business and Enterprise tiers. The WordPress Starter plan lists no included backup copies, so do not assume you can restore from a TMDHosting backup on the cheapest tier. An optional paid backup service has been reported by reviewers.
  • Isolation and malware scanning: CloudLinux account isolation, with malware scanning mentioned on cloud plans.
  • Network: N+1 redundancy on power and infrastructure components.
  • Firewall, DDoS and two-factor authentication: we did not find clear, current detail on these in the pages we read, so ask support what is included on your tier before relying on it.

Ease of use and migration

TMDHosting uses standard cPanel rather than a custom dashboard, which makes it familiar if you have used almost any other budget host, and Softaculous makes installing WordPress or WooCommerce a few clicks. The company emphasises free manual migrations performed by its support staff, and Trustpilot reviewers frequently mention smooth moves. There is no proprietary drag-and-drop builder to learn; you bring your own CMS. If you want hand-holding on a first site, the combination of cPanel and an attentive support team is the main benefit.

Hosting types offered

  • Linux shared hosting
  • Windows shared hosting (listed by third-party reviewers)
  • Cloud hosting
  • WordPress hosting
  • WooCommerce hosting
  • Reseller hosting
  • Managed Linux VPS (cPanel/WHM)
  • Managed dedicated servers

Who owns TMDHosting

TMDHosting's own pages describe it as established in 2007 and "one of the early pioneers in web and cloud hosting." It lists an Orlando, Florida contact location on Trustpilot. The About page we read does not name founders or disclose a parent company, and it mentions customers can escalate to the owners, which suggests an owner-operated business rather than a subsidiary of a larger hosting conglomerate. We could not verify details beyond that, so we do not claim an ownership structure. This is different from the big brand-consolidation groups that own many mainstream hosts.

Pros

  • Excellent customer sentiment, with a 4.8/5 Trustpilot score from about 1,750 reviews (as of October 2026).
  • Support praised for speed and expertise, available around the clock.
  • A wide spread of data centres, including Johannesburg, Mumbai and Santiago, which many budget hosts do not offer.
  • LiteSpeed, cPanel, CloudLinux and a free Cloudflare CDN integration on shared and cloud plans.
  • Free domain, free SSL and manual migration assistance.
  • 30 backup copies on mid and top tiers.
  • A renewal step-up of about 25% on the current shared plans is milder than many competitors.
  • A 30-day refund window to test the service.

Cons

  • Shared plans start around $9.52 a month on a three-year term, which is no longer a bargain headline price.
  • The best price needs a three-year prepayment, and renewals still rise.
  • The 30-day guarantee is shorter than the 60 days quoted in some older reviews, and the longer figure should not be relied upon.
  • The cheapest WordPress plan lists no included backup copies.
  • Managed VPS and dedicated pricing is high compared with self-managed budget alternatives.
  • Third-party uptime testing (dated 2022) showed some instability, and a few current reviewers still mention downtime.
  • Pricing and plan details differ between pages and over time, so you must verify them at checkout.

How TMDHosting compares

TMDHosting's 4.8/5 Trustpilot score sits at the upper end of our comparison set. It trails Scala Hosting (4.9/5) and is level with or ahead of most mainstream brands such as Bluehost (4.5/5) and Namecheap (4.2/5), and far above hosts with weak current sentiment such as Hostwinds (2.1/5).

Against FastComet (4.7/5), the closest peer, both are support-driven small-business hosts with cPanel and a free Cloudflare CDN. FastComet has the larger Trustpilot review base and a longer refund window in our earlier research (45 days), while TMDHosting offers a bigger spread of data centres and a stronger Trustpilot score. Against Scala Hosting, TMDHosting is the more conventional cPanel host, whereas Scala leans on its own tooling and a slightly higher review score. Against Bluehost, TMDHosting generally offers a more personal support experience but a higher entry price on shared hosting, with Bluehost's deeper WordPress-ecosystem integration and brand recognition on the other side. All of these comparisons rely on provider materials and public review scores, not our own testing.

What real users say

This section draws on the TMDHosting Trustpilot page (about 1,750 reviews, 90% five-star, 7% one-star, as of October 2026), one independent tester's write-up, and a small amount of Reddit discussion.

Recurring praise. Trustpilot reviewers most often highlight technical support and staff expertise, especially during migrations and server updates. One reviewer wrote:

"TMD tech support is the best ever...my issues are nearly always sorted out very quickly." (a Trustpilot reviewer, TMDHosting page)

Recurring complaints. The smaller group of critical reviewers mention occasional server downtime, slow support responses in some cases, and problems with site features or security certificates. TMDHosting replies to about 75% of negative reviews, usually within 24 hours. Website Setup's independent testing (2022) also criticised the non-transparent pricing structure and described uptime as unstable in places despite a 99.93% six-month average. That test is old, so weigh it accordingly.

What Reddit says. TMDHosting has a small Reddit footprint, so the Trustpilot score carries more weight here than Reddit does. What exists on r/webhosting is positive but thin: people tend to mention it after downtime problems elsewhere, and report good support. One user said they "needed to change hosts after more downtime problems with DreamHost" and chose TMD. Another thread asking whether TMD is a good option for WordPress had a poster noting they had read only positive reviews and wanted more information from actual users, which shows how little first-hand discussion there is.

"needed to change hosts after more downtime problems with DreamHost" (r/webhosting, "Anyone have experience with TMD Hosting?")

"I have read only positive reviews. I want more information from actual users." (r/webhosting, "TMD Hosting a Good Option for Wordpress?")

How to read this. The sentiment is consistently support-led. The complaints are about reliability and pricing clarity rather than rudeness or lack of help. Sources: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/tmdhosting.com and https://websitesetup.org/hosting-reviews/tmdhosting/.

Frequently asked questions

How long is TMDHosting's money-back guarantee?

The provider's current home, shared, cloud and WordPress pages state 30 days. Older third-party reviews and some marketing copy mention 60 days, but we could not confirm that on the official pages, so plan on 30 and check your checkout screen.

How much does TMDHosting cost after the first term?

On the current shared plans, renewal is $11.90 (Starter), $15.90 (Business) and $23.90 (Enterprise) per month, versus $9.52, $12.72 and $19.12 on the three-year promotional term. These figures can change, so confirm before buying.

Where are TMDHosting's servers?

The provider lists Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, Johannesburg, Mumbai and Santiago. Not every location is offered on every plan, so ask support.

Is TMDHosting good for WordPress and WooCommerce?

It is a solid fit for small and mid-size sites. You get LiteSpeed, cPanel, Softaculous and a dedicated WordPress plan range, with 30 backup copies on Business and Enterprise. It is not a premium managed WordPress platform with a built-in staging workflow like WP Engine or Kinsta.

Does TMDHosting offer an uptime guarantee?

Individual product pages cite 99.9% (WordPress and shared) and 99.99% (VPS). The home page does not state a figure. Read the terms to see how credits work, because we did not find the compensation details in the pages we read.

Is the free domain really free?

The plan pages list a free domain registration or transfer. As with most hosts, free domains typically cover the first term only, so check the renewal price for the domain.

Final verdict

TMDHosting is a good choice if you value responsive, knowledgeable support and a flexible spread of server locations more than the lowest possible price. Its 4.8/5 Trustpilot score from about 1,750 reviews (as of October 2026) is well earned on the support side. The cautions are practical ones: pricing now starts near ten dollars a month on a three-year term, the money-back window we verified is 30 days rather than 60, backups depend on your tier, and older independent uptime testing was mixed. If you are a small business or WordPress owner who wants someone to talk to, it deserves a place on your shortlist. Check the plan, renewal price and refund period at checkout before you commit.
